Biography
Julian has developed a humanistic perspective on computational and information issues, since the late 1980's. Increasingly, he has integrated this perspective with an understanding of human mental labour as a significant source of value and with the idea of information technology as a human construction.
His current research consists of a quartet of books for dissemination:
- Semantic and Syntactic Labor. To appear 2022.
- Information Technology and the Revolution in the Mechanization of Mental Labor. For 2023.
- Invention, Innovation, and Diffusion for Information Technology. For 2024.
- A Final Theory of Information and Data Retrieval. For 2024.
The themes of the books have been developed through interaction with students jointly studying computer science and management.
