QUEEN'S MBA TEACHING 

Professor Julie McCandless

Queen's MBA programme director, Julie, is a practice-oriented academic with extensive experience in management consulting in London, Dublin and Hong Kong. She is interested in practice-led research and knowledge transfer partnerships. Particular themes of interest are business transformations, operational innovation, data-driven decision making, and customer experience strategies. Julie teaches management consulting and leadership at both undergraduate and executive level. 

Professor Richard Ramsey

Richard is a practice-oriented academic with a background in both the public and private sectors. Formerly Chief Economist at Ulster Bank, his work focuses on practice-led research and applying economic analysis to policy and business strategy. His interests include regional development, public policy, labour markets, and global trade impacts. A regular media contributor, he aims to make economics accessible and relevant.

Professor Danielle McConville

Danielle McConville is a Professor of Accounting Education, Chartered Accountant (CAI) and Head of Department for Accounting at QBS. Danielle's research interests are in accounting education, the impact of contemporary technologies on the accounting profession and education, and not-for-profit reporting and regulation, and accounting technologies and education. Danielle teaches Accounting Information Systems, Contemporary Technologies in Accounting and Management Accounting, plus Executive Education for QUB’s Clinton Leadership Institute and for CAI’s professional accounting qualifications.

Dr Chuan Li

Chuan Li is a Lecturer in Marketing at Queen's Business School. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate in Marketing at Alliance Manchester Business School. Chuan received his Higher Education Academy Fellowship in 2021. His research interests are in the fields of digital marketing, cobranding, sustainability in marketing, customer relationship management, and social media marketing. Chuan is a practitioner-turned-academic with industry experience in both MNCs and SMEs. Chuan has experience teaching marketing courses at all levels. He has taught a range of modules including, Digital Marketing, Marketing, Retail Marketing, and Marketing Management.

Professor Min Zhang

Min Zhang is a Professor in Operations Management and Business Analytics at Queen’s Business School. Previously, he was a Research Fellow (Operations Management) at the University of Nottingham and Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at the University of East Anglia. He gained his Ph.D. in Operations Management from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Bachelor and Master degree from Nankai University. Min conducts research into operations and supply chain management, business analytics, and innovation. His teaching interests are advanced analytics and machine learning.

Dr Ulf Bosch

Ulf is a practical-empirical strategist, digital transformation expert and leadership scholar. His research lies in the field of international business strategy, with a focus on multinational corporations in emerging markets. In addition, he is interested in exploring the co-alignment of technology-led disruption, change leadership and organisational culture. He directs and teaches academic modules at undergraduate and graduate level as well as executive education programmes for business leaders.

His research explores two major strands within the field of strategic management: International business strategy focusing on the multinational corporation (MNC) in emerging markets; and digital business transformation with an emphasis on organisational change, resilience and leadership.

Dr Janine Swail

Janine’s research and teaching expertise are closely aligned within the entrepreneurship domain using gender as a critical lens.
She is a qualitative researcher, most interested in privileging the perspectives of individuals, focusing on understanding the meaning they make of their world. She delivers high quality teaching via informed empirical insights and endorses ‘live’ entrepreneur-engagement and action-based learning strategies.

Dr Louise O'Meara

Louise designs and delivers executive education with over 25 years’ experience as a facilitator, coach and programme designer. She has expertise in facilitative leadership, collaboration, leadership development, facilitation, capacity building for leaders and in communities, group and organisational dynamics, strategy development, vision building, social change, and leadership research.

Dr Shuang Ren

Shuang's research is at the intersection of sustainability, human resource management and leadership. She takes a multi-level multi-stakeholder approach in investigating how to transform organisations towards sustainability. She undertakes qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method research. She has taught her research fields to both undergraduates and postgraduates, and as part of executive education programmes.

Dr Michael Aldous

Michael is a business historian whose research addresses the ownership and organisation of firms. His research has examined how firms involved in international trade shaped processes of globalisation. Currently, he is investigating British CEOs, examining who gets to the top of the corporate ladder and how they impact firm performance. He teaches strategic management at undergraduate, postgraduate levels and has extensive experience in executive education.

Professor Simon Teasdale

Simon's teaching and research sit within the area of entrepreneurship as social change. Focusing on the interface between public policies and organisational behaviour, he investigates the collaborative contexts from which new forms of social innovation emerge. Methodologically he combines innovative combinations of ethnographic, network analysis and discourse analysis techniques.
