Poetry Summer School 2014 Dates Announced

The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry offers an intense week of creative practice in the Poetry Summer School 2014 which runs from June 23-27, 2014. 

The week comprises a variety of sessions with seminars, group workshops and one-to-one tutorials with creative writing tutors.  There will also be staff and student poetry readings.  This year sessions are being offered by our own poets, Ciaran Carson,  Leontia Flynn and Sinéad Morrissey.  Other tutors are to be confirmed.

Places are limited to 12 and interested applicants should send a sample of their work (4 poems) to Gerry Hellawell, Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, School of English, Queen's University Belfast, BT7 1NN by Friday 21 March, 2014 at the lastest.  Successful applicants will be informed by the Friday 2 May at the latest.    Submissions of work may be emailed to address below.  The fee for the summer school is £400.

The Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry offers an intensive week of creative practice in the Poetry Summer School which this year runs from 27 June -1 July, 2016. 

The week comprises a variety of sessions with seminars, group workshops and one-to-one tutorials with creative writing tutors.  There will also be staff and student poetry readings and other evening events. 

This year sessions are being offered by our own poets, Ciaran Carson, Leontia Flynn and Sinéad Morrissey, Paul Maddern and Emma Must along with Visiting Fulbright Fellow James Arthur from John Hopkins University.

Places are limited to 12 and interested applicants should send a sample of their work (4 poems) to Gerry Hellawell, Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry, School of English, Queen's University Belfast, BT7 1NN (g.hellawell@qub.ac.uk) by Friday 1 April, 2016 at the latest. 

Successful applicants will be informed within the week.    Submissions of work may be emailed to address below.  The fee for the summer school is £600 (includes lunch and snacks).  Accommodation can be organised at Elms Student Village which is the student accommodation for Queen’s University students (£35 per night).
