Ireland becoming 'world leader' in cancer research: New exhibition launches in Dublin
A major new cancer research exhibition has opened in St Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Dublin, showcasing pioneering work funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research.

The exhibition highlights the achievements of Prof Helen Coleman, Prof Richard Turkington, and their teams within the AllCaN Oesophageal Cancer Network (www.allcan.ie), a collaboration dedicated to improving prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for oesophageal cancer.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin officially launched the exhibition yesterday, joined by charity patron and melanoma survivor Michael Flatley. The event drew national attention, with coverage on RTÉ television and online news on 14th August. Ireland becoming 'world leader' in cancer research
Speaking at the opening, Breakthrough Cancer Research described Ireland as becoming a “world leader” in cancer research, thanks to the dedication of scientists, clinicians, and patient representatives.
In attendance from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) were Prof Helen Coleman, CPH Summer Students Anna Blair (funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research) and Marianne Toal, PhD student Richard Murray (Joint JCCR-CPH student), along with AllCaN Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) representative John Clarke. Clarke, who runs the page Living with Barrett’s Oesophagus, also shared the exhibition on his social media - Living with Barrett's Esophagus | Facebook.
The exhibition offers visitors a chance to explore the latest breakthroughs in cancer research and hear directly from those at the forefront of discovery. A sneak preview video and booking details are available online.
