School of Pharmacy Academics to Host 2026 Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice Conference
Queen’s University Belfast will be hosting the 2026 Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice (HSRPP) Conference on 23 and 24 April 2026.

The conference, which has been running since 1994, has a long legacy of disseminating novel research pertaining to medication use and pharmaceutical care that guides practice and policy changes, ultimately making a difference to patient care and service delivery.
The theme for the 2026 conference is ‘Following the science: generating and implementing evidence to improve health.’ The conference will bring together a rich programme of keynote speakers, workshops and networking opportunities, encouraging delegates to engage in though-provoking discussions, foster collaborations and showcase the latest research that embodies the conference theme.
Professor Carmel Hughes and Dr Heather Barry, conference co-chairs, commented:
“This is the third time that we have hosted this event, and we are honoured to bring the 2026 HSRPP Conference back to Belfast. We are committed to creating an impactful event that reflects the breadth of research and innovation being undertaken in this area. We particularly encourage early career researchers and practitioners new to research to attend, as well as more experienced researchers. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to all delegates to the vibrant city of Belfast.”
Professor Gavin Andrews, Head of the School of Pharmacy at Queen's, added:
“We are delighted to host the 2026 HSRPP Conference at Queen's, showcasing how rigorous research translates into meaningful improvements in patient care. The theme 'Following the science: generating and implementing evidence to improve health' perfectly aligns with our commitment to evidence-based practice and our role in shaping the future of pharmaceutical care. We look forward to welcoming researchers and practitioners from across the globe to Belfast, fostering the collaborative partnerships that drive innovation in our field.”
