How to Apply
To apply for one of our advertised projects, you will be required to provide a statement explaining your experience and why you are suitable to undertake research in that area. Should you wish to develop your own research project, you'll need to find a supervisor who would be interested in supervising you.
Applications can then be made using our online Postgraduate Applications Portal.
At the application stage, you'll need to provide the following:
- Personal details
- Details of your education to date
- Indication of your funding plans
- Your research proposal
- Proof of your English language levels if English is not your first language – more information in relation to the University's English language requirements can be found here
- The names and contact details of two referees – one of which should be an academic reference from the institution you most recently studied at
- The name(s) of your intended supervisor(s)
- The date on which you plan to start your postgraduate study
If you do not have a confirmed funding source, your application can still be considered if you can demonstrate capacity to self-fund or secure external funding to support your studies. The School advertises all funded positions clearly; studentships which are not marked as being funded will require alternative funding arrangements. International candidates seeking funding should visit the University's International Scholarships page for further information.
