Postgraduate Research Opportunities
From drug delivery and formulation science, pharmaceutical manufacturing, translational therapeutics, pharmacology and medicinal chemistry, biomaterials and medical devices, through to pharmacy practice, healthcare delivery and medicines optimisation, a wide range of opportunities are provided in conjunction with our collaborative research centres and industry partners, reflecting our commitment to translational research with real-world impact.
Each year, the School of Pharmacy receives an allocation of funded studentships from the Northern Ireland Department for the Economy (DfE), which provide support for tuition fees, a stipend and research costs. UK applicants are automatically considered for these studentships. In addition to these, a small number of international studentships may also be available, however, these are highly competitive. International applicants wishing to be considered for DfE support must indicate this on their application form. Further details can be found in the DfE Research Eligibility Guidance Notes.
We regularly advertise funded opportunities externally through Find a PhD, and further, all opportunities both with and without allocated funding are advertised internally via the Queen's Research Opportunities website.
Available postgraduate research projects are advertised throughout the year. Each project listing contains contact details for queries and a link to the online applications portal.
If you have a topic or research question in mind which you would like to explore as a postgraduate student here at the School, please browse our Find a PhD supervisor page to identify the most appropriate member of staff to support your idea.
