Researchers calling for views on Northern Ireland’s Gender Recognition Act

10 March, 2022

Researchers at Queen’s University Belfast are calling on people from right across Northern Ireland to submit their views on Northern Ireland’s Gender Recognition Act.

Commissioned by the Department of Finance, researchers in the School of Psychology at Queen’s are conducting a mixed-methods survey to gauge views on the current legislation.

The results of the survey will then be collated and used by the Department to consider if changes are required to the law.

Dr Ioana Latu is leading the project at Queen’s. She explains:

“This project was initiated last year and will inform the Department of Finance on the views of people in Northern Ireland with regards to the Gender Recognition Act.

“We are calling on the public to take part in the study as this is a chance to express your opinions and your experiences on living with the current legislation.”

To take part in the study, please complete the online survey.

You may also view the current legislation at the legislation.gov.uk website.
