Fighting Words Writing Workshops

The new Centre will be housed in a beautiful Victorian listed building conveniently close to Belfast City Centre and on the edge of the main university campus. The strategic location offers the opportunity to reach new communities across the city, with some of Northern Ireland’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in close proximity.

We aim to create a vibrant and inclusive creative writing hub that embodies the essence and significance of Heaney’s life, work and legacy; a place where writers of all ages and backgrounds can come together to learn, challenge and inspire each other. In this stimulating and supportive environment people will find their voice as writers, just as Heaney did, at Queen’s.

As Children's Writing Fellow, Kelly has worked with school groups and libraries to set up writing clubs, as well as hosting public events for us on writing for young people.
