PROSPER

The PROSPER randomized trial is designed to answer for the first time the question of whether providing glasses can improve productivity of presbyopic workers in low-resource settings in lower and middle-income countries. We studied this question among mostly-female rural tea pickers in Assam, India. Please click on the below link to access the full protocol for the study. Later links will include the full data set and results, as these become available.

PROSPER

Tea workers wearing their new study glasses. 'Productivity isn't everything, but in the long run it is almost everything. A country's ability to improve its standard of living over time depends almost entirely on its ability to raise its output per worker." Paul Krugman, Nobel Laureate
