Celebrating 20 Years of QUILL

25 March, 2019

Researchers from QUILL celebrated 20 years of world leading research in the field of ionic liquids.

Attendees at the March 2019 QUILL Meeting
QUILL Researchers, Industrial Board Members and Invited Guests at the March 2019 Meeting

QUILL staff, students and Industrial Advisory Board members were in attendance, along with invited guests from local and international industry and other academic institutions.

The meeting included a showcase of research from both industrial guests (B9 Energy Storage, Certech, Johnson Matthey, Kilwaughter Minerals, Trifol) and QUILL researchers, and poster presentations from all QUILL students and postdoctoral researchers. Prizes were awarded to Lucy Brown (best presentation, best poster), Emily Bryne (presentation runner up) and Peter McNeice (poster runner up).

Micheál Scanlon of the University of Limerick was the invited lecturer for the event, and gave an engaging talk on electrochemistry at liquid-liquid interfaces. The 20th anniversary of the research center was celebrated with dinner and birthday cake, hosted at Riddel Hall.
