Spring QUILL Meeting
QUILL hosted its Spring 2024 IAB meeting

QUILL Spring 2024 IAB Meeting Showcases Student Innovation and Industry Collaboration
The QUILL Research Centre held its Spring 2024 Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting, welcoming key industry partners and celebrating the work of our talented student researchers.
The event featured a dynamic poster session and research presentations by 14 of our students, showcasing cutting-edge work across Energy storage, gas separation, circular economy, water purification and catalysis. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with the researchers, fostering meaningful discussion and feedback with the audiance.
The traditional QUILL Lecture on Strategies to Close the Loop Using Accessible and Sustainable Critical Metal Recovery Methodologies, was given by Assistant professor Cristina Pozo-Gonzalo.
We were honoured to be joined by IAB members Peter Klusener, Geetha Srinivasan, Kieran Long, Eoghain O'Hara and Huping Luo (online) and our honorary academic members Paul Davey and Nimal Gunaratne, whose presence and feedback provided valuable insight and encouragement to our students.
As part of the meeting, awards were presented in recognition of outstanding student posters, presentations, and participation. These accolades celebrate both scientific excellence and communication skills—key components in advancing the mission of QUILL to bridge the gap between research and real-world application.
We thank all participants, judges, and IAB members for making the Spring 2024 IAB Meeting a resounding success, and we look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts in sustainable innovation.
