We are delighted to announce that the School has received an Education Impact Award from Autism N.I.
This accolade is given to organisations that have implemented measures and training to create an inclusive and supportive environment for autistic students and staff members. Demonstrating the commitment of School staff to inclusion for autistic and neurodivergent staff, students and visitors.
By providing inclusive support, autistic and neurodivergent people can feel more comfortable and less anxious.
Through our Action Plan we’ve already made significant progress and taken important steps which has helped us to implement a range of practical adjustments to enhance accessibility and inclusivity for autistic staff and students.
In November 2024, staff members completed tailored, accredited, and CPD-certified training.
The training was designed for key front-facing professional support and academic staff engaged in the delivery of education and research, and also included Postgraduate Research Students.
Additionally, we are proud to have two accredited AQA Unit Award Autism Champions: Mrs Teresa Cotton and Dr Leanne Stevenson.
