EPS Mathematics & Statistics Helpdesk (MASH)

A new and unique service for EPS students has been launched! The exciting new EPS Mathematics & Statistics Helpdesk (MASH) opened last week and is aimed at supporting all UG & PG students across the EPS Faculty in their learning of Mathematics & Statistics.

This is the first initiative being delivered through the Maths Academy by the Director, Professor Adele Marshall.

MASH is located in the Old Physics Building, Room LG 013. This new service will be opened daily from 11am – 2pm during term-time.

MASH has 18 skilled tutors from a range of disciplines across the Faculty who are kindly supporting students through the service this semester and in the opening week, MASH has already supported students from across a range of disciplines including psychology, structural engineering, geography, theoretical physics, civil engineering etc. Feedback so far has been extremely positive!

‌If you are confused by a particular topic, stuck on a problem and want to build confidence in your mathematical ability then why not make an appointment?

MASH Offers:

  • skilled, friendly tutors from across the EPS faculty
  • Just drop in or book a free, confidential 1-1 appointment with a tutor

For further information, please visit the MASH site direct: http://go.qub.ac.uk/eps-mash and from here students will be able to book 1-1 appointments with tutors and they are also welcome to just drop into MASH during the opening hours.

The website also contains a location map, a schedule of tutors and their area of specialism so students can view this before accessing the booking system if they wish.

If you have any questions or require further information please contact Karin Walker, Education Project Co-ordinator mash@qub.ac.uk  or Prof Adele Marshall, Director of the Maths Academy a.h.marshall@qub.ac.uk
