Thermal conductivity of PbTe from computer simulation

The objective of this project is to calculate the lattice thermal conductivity of PbTe and find different strategies to reduce its value and therefore improve its efficiency.  Molecular dynamics simulations, first principles calculations and phase-field models are used to study the effect of vacancies, interstitials, voids and grain boundaries on the thermal conductivity at intermediate temperatures.
