Moving up in University Professional Services: Advice for Women - 23 March 2020 - Postponed

Marie O’Neill, Head of Enhancement and Learning at CCT College Dublin

Marie works as Head of Enhancement at CCT College Dublin. Her role involves working with staff across the College to implement enhancements to Teaching and Learning, the Learning Environment and Research. Previously she has worked as a library professional in the libraries of the Technological university Dublin, UCD, the Oireachtas and King's Inns, going on to manage Dublin Business School Library for over a decade which won Best Library Team at the 2017 National Education Awards. Whilst at DBS, she also initiated the establishment of the MSc in Information and Library Management and was Managing Editor of DBS Business Review, a cross-institutional, peer reviewed, open access journal from its inception until 2018. The journal is indexed on the Directory of Open Access Journals, EBSCO and Proquest databases. Marie also has over a decade's experience of representing academic support functions during accreditation and validation exercises

In 2017, Marie coordinated a pilot of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning's Professional Development Framework For All Those Who Teach in Higher Education and was a keynote speaker at the Forum's Pilots day in the Mansion House. She has also published a chapter on this pilot with HECA Librarians in a book entitled 'Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Irish Academic Libraries: Stories of Professional Artistry,' published in 2019 as part of a project funded by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning entitled L2L. In 2019, she obtained a PACT Facilitator Digital Badge from the National Forum.
