MA Media & Broadcast graduate Philip Denvir wins award at the RTS National Students awards

We are delighted to announce that MA Media & Broadcast graduate Philip Denvir won the Postgraduate Factual – Short Form award category for his documentary 'Leave Only Footprints' at the Royal Television Society National Student awards, June 25

'Leave Only Footprints' which was produced for his masters dissertation project and is about the urban explorers who uncover abandoned buildings across Northern Ireland.  The project was supervised by Frank Delaney.

Quote from Royal Television Society on Philip's work:

“The jury admired the film’s beautiful shooting and editing, praising its pace, strong use of archive, and engaging sound design. They felt it was an excellently executed, topical piece that drew the audience in with care and precision.”

Quotes from Philip:

"This project really felt like the culmination of everything I learned during my time at Queen’s. The MA in Media and Broadcast Production not only equipped me with the editorial skills to take an idea from concept to screen, but fostered an environment that gave me the confidence to explore and find my creative voice. Winning a National RTS Student Award is a huge honour, and felt like a milestone that recognised not just the final project, but the growth that led to it."

"The Master's in Media & Broadcast Production strikes a great balance of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. Teaching on the latest thinking around media is paired with hands-on projects that allowed me to create work which now forms a central part of my portfolio. This experience has equipped me with the skills and confidence to pursue my career in media production." Philip Denvir, MA in Media and Broadcast Production 23-24
