KALIYATTAM is a Malayalam-language film (with English subtitles) directed by two-time Indian National Film award-winning filmmaker Jayaraj from Kerala, India.
His Othello is a fire dancer of the regional Keralan art form theyyam.
The film was a critical and commercial success the year of its 1997 release. Jayaraj won the National Film Award for best director and Suresh Gopi (Othello) won it for best actor.
