Language Assistantships are available in France, the Caribbean, Canada, Spain or Latin America with the British council - gain work experience as an English teacher (and get paid!)

We have agreements with prestigious universities including Université de Tours, Universidad Complutense (Madrid) and Universidade de Coimbra.
Depending on the degree pathway, students studying Irish will spend up to six weeks residence in the Gaeltacht.
This is to enable students to immerse themselves in an Irish speaking environment and to improve their oral skills.
Students can organise their own work placement in conjunction with the Year Abroad Co-ordinator.
For example, we have had students work with charity organisations in Latin America.
