Welcome to Dr Alex Rowell

19 January, 2024

Dr Alex Rowell - Clinical Teaching Fellow

Dr Alex Rowell Clinical Teaching Fellow
Dr Alex Rowell

My name is Dr. Alex Rowell and I am practicing clinical psychologist. I have a wide range of clinical experiences that include three different inpatient/outpatient hospitals, a non-profit organization, multiple college-counselling centres, and private practice. My areas of interests include working with professional/graduate students, mood disorders, self-compassion, teaching, mindfulness, burnout, and gender awareness and education. I have been fortunate enough to present on the local, state, and national level on peripartum mental health, multicultural awareness, and couples transition to parenthood. I practice from a Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Self-Psychological perspective. I am very excited to be here at Queen’s and to work with the students and staff in the doctoral program.
