Where Writing Lives...
With over twice the internal area of the existing building, the new Centre is to be a worldleading facility, dedicated to excellence in creative writing: a creative hub and inspiring space for teaching, writing, reading, for workshops, masterclasses and performances. The new location will allow the Centre to host an expanding programme of summer schools and creative writing weeks, as well as accommodate the increasing numbers of visitors interested in Seamus Heaney, in poetry, and in writing from Northern Ireland.
Our vision is to celebrate and symbolise the legacy of Seamus Heaney, produce world class writing and research, and nurture and inspire future generations of new writers.
