Join the Editorial Board
The Open Ear is a literary journal dedicated to creative writing by students, staff, and alumni of Queen’s University Belfast. We are seeking editorial board members including a Social Media/Marketing Coordinator, a Nonfiction Editor, and a Prose Editor. All those interested in these roles should be affiliated with Queen’s University Belfast (students, staff, or alumni).
Social Media/Marketing Coordinator - As Social Media/Marketing Coordinator, you will cultivate our online presence and engage with emerging writers. You will be responsible for managing our Twitter, Facebook, and email. You will be in charge of delivering quality online readings via Zoom and designing a website for The Open Ear.
Nonfiction Editor - As Nonfiction editor, you will read and review submissions, editing accepted pieces and emailing writers. You will be in charge of soliciting submissions and shaping The Open Ear’s nonfiction section. We are eager to publish creative nonfiction as well as short reviews of contemporary books.
Prose Editor - As Prose Editor, you will work in a team with one other editor to read and review submissions, editing accepted pieces and emailing writers. You will be in charge of soliciting submissions and shaping The Open Ear’s fiction section. We have a long history of publishing emerging prose writers and we’re keen to find exciting new voices.
