PEER MENTORS

The first few days and weeks at university can feel very threatening. Often undergraduate students are as concerned about the 'social' aspects of student life as much as the academic aspects. There are also on-going stresses, questions & queries about practical issues.

To support you we have a team of 2nd and 3rd year BA and BSW students, trained in peer mentoring who offer: peer group support, friendly meetings, drop-in sessions, email advice, study groups and mature student support groups.

PERSONAL TUTORS

Personal Tutors are academic members of staff who you meet on your induction and offer guidance & support throughout your degree.

You will engage with & learn from many different members of staff during your time at Queen’s; your Personal Tutor is the person who has a consistent and sustained relationship of support for you.

Their primary role is to help you get the most of your time here not only through academic advancement but also by encouraging your personal development. They also offer a ‘first port of call’ in terms of pastoral support, and are there to help refer you to any necessary support or advice services in Queen’s.
