I completed my work placement in Amey Consultants based up in Malone Road. I was based in the environmental sustainability team, originally doing more admin work, more of a generalist and then I moved into the GIS team. That would have been one of the modules that I'd undertaken in second year with Queen’s.

It's absolutely a great opportunity because it gets you that experience so you're automatically ahead of the game. The placement's helped me even further with my studies in final year, I’m more confident with presentations and better with report writing.

I finished my placement year with Amey in September, I passed, and then kept the job on for three days a week while studying in final year. I hope after graduation, if all goes well, to pick up a graduate program with them. It's a sector that I enjoy, and I enjoy consultancy as a whole, so it's something that I want to do.
