Cook Like A Boss Online

Back to events

Cook Like A Boss Online is the first of its kind, a virtual cooking camp. Take part in 5 days of FREE cooking classes for you and your child led by the wonderful Chef Jeffers from Forestside Cookery School in Belfast.

Date(s)
April 5, 2021 - April 9, 2021
Location
Online
Time
09:00 - 21:00

Beat the lockdown boredom and learn some new skills along the way. If you were a bit nervous about including your child in cooking activities or you have had them alongside you the whole time, there is something in the camp for everyone. Give your child the chance to take the lead in the kitchen (just keep an eye on them).

The camp is aimed at children aged 9-12 years old. Anyone resident on the island of Ireland can take part. The camp will run from the 5th to the 9th of April and an email will be sent with a daily link to a cooking video for you and your child to cook along with at your convenience that day. 120 spaces are available to people from the Republic of Ireland and 80 from Northern Ireland.

Both the parent and child will complete an online survey at the beginning and end of the camp, links will be emailed to you, to help us understand the effect of this new type of camp. Upon registration you will get emailed the links to the initial survey and a list of ingredients needed for the week. When both end surveys are completed, you will get sent a £/€20 grocery voucher towards the cost of the ingredients.

This camp is now full and can't accept any additional requests. Thank you for all your interest.

This project has received full ethical approval from the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences ethics committee at Queen’s University Belfast and is a collaborative project between Ulster University, St. Angela’s College Sligo (National University of Ireland Galway), Dublin City University, Technological University Dublin and the University of Newcastle Australia.
