Social activities

The School of Biological Sciences regularly hosts events where you can get to know the community outside of your course and take a break from studying. Activities range from movie nights to quizzes.

Peer Mentor Scheme

The School runs a Peer Mentor Scheme, where trained, experienced students host informal drop-in sessions. These provide a friendly space to ask questions, share experiences, and get to know others while settling into university life.

Clubs and Societies

Students run their own societies, such as the QUB BioSciences Society, QUB Marine Biology and Zoology Society, and QUB Sub-Aqua Club. Each year they host society visits, seminars and the highlight of the social calendar, the society formals.

Talks, Seminars, Conferences and Festivals

Queen's has a close partnership with NI Science Festival, which offers a wide range of events focusing on the wonders of STEM. Within the School, regular highlights include a seminar series featuring guest speakers.
