Dr Timofey Skvortsov

School of Pharmacy

Dr Skvortsov’s team conducts research into bacteriophage-derived antimicrobial agents for the detection, control and elimination of clinically important biofilms. Our work is interdisciplinary in nature and relies heavily on application of methods of molecular biology, microbiology and bioinformatics approaches.

Other areas of interest include metagenomics and metatranscriptomics of complex microbial communities, investigation of horizontal gene transfer of antimicrobial resistance and virulence determinants, and metagenomic discovery and directed evolution of novel biocatalysts for pharmaceutical biotechnology.
