FILM IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MASS MEDIUM AND ART FORM OF MODERN TIMES, POPULAR IN ITS APPEAL AND RADICAL IN ITS PRACTICES.

The MA in Film at Queen’s aims to offer a rich, diverse curriculum, enabling students to specialise in practice-based and critical approaches to film, and other media arts.

TEACHING STUDENTS SKILLS IN LEADING AND MANAGING ARTS AND CREATIVE PROJECTS AND ORGANISATIONS.

We connect directly with a range of theatre companies, festivals, venues, local and central government bodies and arts development agencies to ensure that students are hearing from, and working with, professionals and policymakers.

Media and Broadcast Production

THE MA OFFERS AN INTEGRATED PROGRAMME OF STUDY IN THE THEORETICAL, APPLIED AND CREATIVE ASPECTS OF CONTEMPORARY BROADCASTING.

Students will be introduced to theoretical approaches to broadcasting, as well as to basic techniques useful for broadcast practice. The programme should appeal to graduate students in the Humanities and Social Sciences, particularly those with backgrounds in English, politics, history, journalism, cultural studies and creative writing.

MRes in Arts and Humanities

MRes in Arts and Humanities

The MRes in Arts and Humanities is a research preparation degree that offers students the opportunity to undertake advanced studies within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in QUB.

The course is structured around the personal research interests of each student and supported by a bespoke research preparation portfolio and a range of optional modules in areas related to the research. The MRes is available in a wide range of disciplines within the Faculty.
