Welcoming students

A big welcome to all our incoming students. We look forward to meeting you in the next few weeks as you join our School community.

And welcome back also to our returning undergraduate students, we hope you have had a good summer break and are looking forward to the year ahead!

Undergraduate

Note that for all undergraduate students both new and returning, there are a number of induction events happening across two weeks. These contain important information about the year ahead as well as useful opportunities to meet key staff and your fellow students. You are expected to attend all these events. 

  • There will be online events the week before teaching begins which is week beginning Monday 9 September.
  • There will then be further in-person events the week teaching begins which is week beginning Monday 16 September.

Note teaching begins on Monday 16 September. All teaching will be in-person unless otherwise indicated on your timetable.

Postgraduate

Details of induction activities for new postgraduate masters students will be communicated by Programme Directors. These will take place in-person week beginning Monday 16 September.

Psychology Connect

Psychology Connect is a programme of events to help you connect with the School and your fellow students. All Psychology students are very welcome to all Psychology Connect events.

Tuesday 17th September

11am - 3pm: Psychology Zoo Day in DKB Quad. The wonderful Kidz Farm will be on campus with Llama’s, ponies, sheep, ducks, reptiles and much more! Come down and have a cuddle, or face your fears with the snakes and spiders.

Wednesday 18th September

Welcome Wednesday 5pm – David Keir 0G010 (Student Common Room) – A chance to meet each other informally over some pizza and board games

Monday 23rd September 

Pizza and Paint – get creative, whilst making friends – with some free pizza thrown in! DKB – venue to be confirmed. 

Regular events from Week 2 onwards

Mondays 5pm - 7pm Pizza and Paint - every 2 weeks during term (starting Week 2, Monday 23 September)

Tuesdays 8.30am: Free student breakfasts until they run out - every week during term (starting Week 2, Tuesday 24 September)
