My research focuses on nutritional strategies to enhance nutrient use efficiency and animal performance while reducing greenhouse gas emissions from ruminants. I investigate how bioactive compounds (i) improve protein use efficiency, (ii) enhance product quality, and (iii) mitigate environmental impact (greenhouse gases, ammonia). My program applies in vitro, in situ, and in vivo approaches, alongside spectroscopy, to optimize nutrition and study nutrient molecular structure, fermentation, and digestion. Current projects evaluate alternative livestock feed sources, including insects, algae, and trees.

Research Interests

Open to PhD applications from those having at least a 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in an animal science, animal production related field, and who are interested in identification of technologies and nutritional practices to improve the sustainability and productivity of ruminant production systems.
