Description of Project: Aim; Methods; Expected Outcome |
The aim of the study is to explore the value of immersive 360 virtual reality as an acceptable educational methodology to increase registered nurses self-efficacy to advocate for patients by effectively engaging in a multidisciplinary team setting. Research study will adopt a sequential explanatory mixed methods research design. Three data collection points: pre intervention. Immediate post intervention and six to twelve weeks post intervention. Quantitative component Three questionnaires related to self-efficacy, patient advocacy and level of immersion using VR methodology. Qualitative component Focus groups immediate post intervention and six to twelve weeks post intervention. Outcomes relate to levels of self-efficacy, patient advocacy engagement scales, level of immersion using VR methodology, experiences of applying learning from using VR methodology applied in practice. |
