How To Apply

How to Apply

Before applying for one of our courses you must consider the four following steps;

A: Are you applying to become a Nurse or a Midwife?

B: Applying to transfer from another Higher Educational Institution (HEI) to a pre-registration BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing or BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme in the School.

C: Are you applying to Continue Your Professional Development? 

D: Are you applying for a Postgraduate Opportunity? 

E: Do you meet our entry requirements?

A: Applying To Become A Nurse Or Midwife (Undergraduate)

Wherever you are in the world, you can apply for an Undergraduate degree in the UK through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). All potential Nursing and Midwifery students must also carry out an AccessNI and Occupational Health Check. Further information on the application process can be found by clicking here.


B: Applying to transfer from another Higher Educational Institution (HEI) to a pre-registration BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing or BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme in the School.

Applicants can apply for entry to Year 2 of the BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing programme or the BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme from another HEI if specific criteria can be met and an application for Recognition of Prior Learning can be mapped to the current BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing / Midwifery programme. The criteria for application can be found by clicking here.


C: Applying To Continue Your Professional Development

As a registered nurse you can avail of all our top of the range continued professional development courses. The easiest and fastest way of applying is by completing our online interest form. Further information can be found by clicking here.


D: Applying For A Postgraduate Opportunity

Individuals may apply for a range of postgraduate taught or research based programmes. To do this, you must apply to the School directly. Further application information can be found by clicking here.


E: Entry Requirements

For your application to be successful, you will need to meet the academic and English language entry requirements for your course. International candidates with queries about the acceptability of their academic or English language qualifications should refer to the 'Your Country' section of the website for advice on comparability with UK qualifications.

The English Language Requirements section provides a full list of acceptable English Language qualifications and minimum grades which are accepted by the University for entry to degree level study.

Please also consult the University Coursefinder for details of the Academic and English Language requirements for entry to individual undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.
