Dr Liu's research focuses on molecular biology of plants and biotechnology. Using Arabidopsis as the model plant, my lab studies how plant respond to abiotic stresses, including drought and salinity. The lab has also been working on projects understanding interaction of soil bacteria with plant fungal pathogens. The third area the lab is working on is genetic mechanisms controlling the self-incompatibility of Lolium perenne.
