Professor Mullan’s group are interested in investigating the molecular driver events responsible for the development and metastases of breast, ovarian and prostate cancers. These molecular events range from oncogene amplifications and aberrant epigenetic regulation to DNA repair deficiencies and dysregulation of epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT).

We study the control of cell senescence and how cancers can bypass senescence to drive tumorigenesis. We are also interested in developing blood markers of the early detection for high grade serous carcinomas.
