Overview
The Martin McKee MPH in Global Health Scholarship will pay full postgraduate fees of £6,450 for one year to one Northern Ireland student who has been accepted onto the MPH in Global Health programme
Eligibility to apply as set out below:
- Applicants must be a permanent resident in Northern Ireland.
- Applicants must have been accepted onto the MPH in Global Health programme for the academic year 2021-22.
Applications for awards should be submitted to the Postgraduate and Professional Development Office by email pgoffice.smdb@qub.ac.uk
Closing Date 4pm, 19th July 2021.
Further Information
Applicants are required to respond to the following, using a maximum of 500 words:
“What do you think is the greatest health problem facing developing countries today, why do you think this is so important to developing countries in particular, and how generally would you propose to address it?”
Only one scholarship will be awarded. The successful candidate will be selected by assessment of the written application as described above or, in the case of a tie, tied candidates will be interviewed.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide a final report on their progress at Queen’s to the donor (i.e. Martin McKee) and to the School PGT Scholarships Committee.

Full postgraduate fees of £6,450 for one year
There will be an additional stipend of £1,675 to support accommodation fees, study materials, food, living and travel expenses. The scholarship will be awarded for the academic year 2021-22
If the student withdraws or is required to withdraw from Queen’s during their first year, they will be required to return a proportion of the award depending on the date of withdrawal.
