Chancellery Operations

About Us

Chancellery Operations provides strategic and operational support to the President and Vice-Chancellor, University Management Board and the University’s Governing Body, Senate.

What we do

Chancellery Operations has three key areas of responsibility: Strategic and Executive Operations, including executive support to the senior leadership team and management of a range of institutional projects; Corporate Governance, including support to Senate and its core committees; and Chancellery Events, including delivery of institutional events such as Graduation.

Assistant Director and Chief of Staff

Claire provides high-level strategic, operational, and policy support to the President and Vice-Chancellor as well as University Management Board. She plays a critical role in aligning the University’s executive priorities, ensuring governance excellence, and facilitating effective institutional leadership. Claire also manages the Chancellery Operations function, which encompasses the Strategic and Executive Operations team supporting the Vice-Chancellor, Provost and Portfolio PVC Team; the Corporate Governance team; and the team with responsibility for University Events, including graduation.

Areas

Strategic and Executive Operations

This team oversees the co-ordination of key governance and leadership groups, including the University Management Board, Professional Services Management Committee, and the Senior Leaders’ Forum. The team is also responsible for co-ordinating a variety of institutional projects and handling the daily operations of the Chancellery, including support for the President and Vice-Chancellor, Provost and portfolio Pro-Vice-Chancellors.

Corporate Governance

The Governance and Senate Operations Team provide comprehensive secretariat support to Senate, the University’s Governing Body, and its core Committees of Academic Council; Planning, Finance and Resources Committee; Governance and Nominations Committee; Audit and Risk Committee; Remuneration Committee; and People and Culture Committee. The Team also manages the University corporate governance arrangements and oversees the development and application of the governing instruments of the Charter, Statutes and Regulations, and the scheme of delegation.

Chancellery Events

Chancellery Events are responsible for the event management and operations of key institutional events such as Graduation Seasons (Summer/Winter), Honorary Degree Conferrals/Graduations both in country and internationally, core University events such as 25 Years Service Awards, Remembrance Sunday Memorial Service, the Annual Chaplains Carol Service as well as Vice-Chancellor focussed events throughout the academic year. Due to their vast experience in event and conference management, they also offer a consultancy service to colleagues across the University allowing for consistency in professional on all University-led events.
