The Chief Executives' Club at Queen's University Belfast hosted an evening lecture with Mr Feargal McCormack, President of Chartered Accountants Ireland and Managing Director of PKF-FPM Accountants on Tuesday 14 May. Mr McCormack is a proud Queens University Belfast Alumnus, having graduated with an Economics honours degree in 1982 and successfully completed the postgraduate diploma in Accounting in 1983. In the academic year 1982/83 he became the inaugural President of the Queens University Accountancy Society.

Queen's University Belfast provided a live stream of this prestigious lecture from the Royal Aeronautical Society Headquarters in London. This year's lecture was titled 'Aeronauts and Innovators – Northern Ireland’s Aviation Pioneers and their Inspirational Engineering Achievements' and was given by Professor Mark Price, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Queen's University Belfast.

The Annual KPMG Lecture in association with The Chief Executives' Club at Queen's and Queen's University Management School presented a keynote lecture from Steve Rowe, Chief Executive at Marks and Spencer on Wednesday 27 March 2019 titled 'M&S Food: Transforming with Integrity'. Mr Rowe was introduced by Professor Nola Hewitt-Dundas, Head of School, Queen's University Management School and Ashleen Feeney, Director, KPMG and after the keynote address a Q&A session was facilitated by Professor Chris Elliott, founder of The Institute of Global Food Security at Queen's University Belfast.

In this talk, Patrick Honohan - who was in the thick of the post-crisis recovery as Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland and a member of the European Central Bank's Governing Council between 2009 and 2015 - will look back at the damage the last failures caused and consider whether the new approach that banking authorities in the UK, the euro area and the US are implementing to resolve failing banks can deliver on what it promises.
