Bridges to China is a partnership between Queen's University Belfast (Dr Emma Reisz and Dr Briony Widdis) and the Chinese Welfare Association to explore neglected Chinese heritage in Northern Ireland.
This short film by Michael Avila and Maciek Bator of AvilaMedia features Sally Gillespie, Lili Li, Wei Deng, Stephen Lam and many others at a workshop on 29 July 2025 exploring Chinese collections at Mount Stewart.
This historic house in Northern Ireland, run by the National Trust, is a partner in Historic Houses, Global Crossroads, a major project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and led by University of Birmingham with Queen's University Belfast (QUB) and other partners.
The workshop was a prelude to 'Bridges to China', a co-production initiative between QUB, the Chinese Welfare Association and National Museums NI, funded by AHRC's Impact Acceleration Account.
