Naughton Gallery
Did you know we have an art gallery in the heart of our Lanyon Building? Situated on the first floor, you’ll find the Naughton Gallery, one of Ireland’s leading visual arts destinations.
The gallery offers free admission, is open seven days a week and welcomes art enthusiasts from across the globe. It’s recognised as one of the leading university galleries in the UK and Ireland!

Brian Friel Theatre
Across the road from the main university campus is the Brian Friel Theatre, located in the Queen's University Drama and Film Centre at 20 University Square.
The Brian Friel Theatre is one of the best-equipped venues in the city, featuring a 120-seat studio theatre, rehearsal room, dressing rooms, green room, and workshop. It was officially opened in 2009 by Brian Friel, one of Ireland’s most celebrated and internationally acclaimed playwrights.
Throughout the year, the Brian Friel Theatre hosts a variety of events including performances, lectures, guest speakers and showcases.
Seamus Heaney Centre
The Seamus Heaney Centre is a tribute to one of Ireland’s greatest poets. Located within a listed historic building, 38-40 University Road and 3 Mount Charles, the centre is just a short walk from the main Lanyon Building. The centre has a large venue space, scriptorium (a writing area), offices and creative spaces for students and staff.
The centre also features a public exhibition space displaying the Seamus Heaney archive, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Queen’s Film Theatre
The Queen’s Film Theatre (QFT) has been bringing the best independent, international and cult cinema to audiences in Northern Ireland for over 50 years.

Located across the road from the main Lanyon Building at 20 University Square, BT7 1PA, the film theatre offers student discounts and serves coffee, drinks, and other refreshments at its in-house bar.

Queen’s Sport
Queen’s Sport is at the heart of student wellbeing and activity at Queen’s. It offers everything you need to stay fit, make friends and enjoy a balanced university life.
Located in the Physical Education Centre beside Botanic Gardens, Queen’s Sport provides world-class facilities for students such as a large gym, swimming pool, climbing wall, and courts for badminton, squash, and table tennis.
Not only that, but we also have a wide choice of fitness classes that you can sign up for including Pilates, Yoga, Spin, HIIT and Zumba.
Reboot Gaming Cafe
Reboot is a unique and exciting gaming cafe that we have here at Queen’s. Whether you want to play Dungeons and Dragons or Uno, or have a game of Mario Kart with friends, you’ll find something for everyone at Reboot.

One Elmwood Student Centre & Students’ Union
One Elmwood is the home for the Students' Union which provides you with vital support, opportunities to socialise and take part in activities; all to help you make friends and develop your skillset during your time at Queen’s.
From hanging out with friends over a coffee, studying in a tech-friendly space, meeting up with others from your club or society, to grabbing lunch from the Union Shop, to enjoying a pint in the Union Bar, or going to a gig in the Mandela Hall, the Students’ Union is always buzzing with activity.
