African and Caribbean Society
Are you looking for a society that strikes the right balance between banter and cultural education? If so the African-Caribbean Society (ACS) is for you!
As the African and Caribbean community at Queen's, we aim to promote our rich heritage by opening up a space where our diverse culture can be celebrated.
African Caribbean Medical Association
QUB African and Caribbean Medical Association was established in 2020. Our aims are:
- To provide social, emotional, and academic support for medical students of African and Caribbean backgrounds
- To create a platform to develop a professional network between graduates and current students of Queen's University
- To increase the presence and to help African and Caribbean students aspire to medicine and the healthcare profession
Asian Medical Students' Association
Asian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) is a peak representative organisation for medical students from across Asia, the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
First established in 1985, there are now 24 member chapters in Asia and Oceania, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. AMSA has representatives for and works closely with WHO, ASEAN, IFMSA and EMSA. These representatives present annual paper reports on the ventures of Asian medical students as well as voicing our views and concerns revolving important issues in Asia and worldwide.
Canadian and American Students' Association
QUB's official Canadian-American society! Great way to meet other students at Queen's that may share your interests. Membership is open to all students - you do not have to be Canadian/American!
CASA events are inclusive to all QUB students! It is a great way for students to socialize and meet people, gain insight into Canadian and American culture, and, if you are Canadian/American, alleviate homesickness.

Chinese Students' Association
We’re a non-profit, non-political society, and also an official member of UK Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA). Established in 1999, we have witnessed the growth of Chinese students group in Belfast, as well as deeper communication with university academy and local society.
We are dedicated to improving wellbeing of our members, to enrich Chinese students’ study and social life, to enhance Chinese scholars’ general impact, and to promote Chinese traditional culture towards people in Ireland.
Indonesian Society
Indonesia Student Society is established as social, cultural and educational platform for Indonesian Students in Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Our existence is trying to act as the second home/family for them.
We would like to create a home away from home environment for Indonesian Students in Queens with Indonesian values. We are also trying to identify a potential individual for running the amount of programs in Belfast.
International Engineering Society
The International Engineering Society (QUBIES) was established to support and encourage a more diverse engineering cohort at Queen’s University Belfast.
Run by international students for international students, we understand it is common for International students to feel isolated and alone in a new country without a community. The Queen’s University Belfast International Engineering Society (QUBIES) was established to support and encourage a more diverse engineering cohort at Queen’s University Belfast.
Islamic Society
This is a society that gives Muslim students at Queen's the opportunity to meet up together on a regular basis and make new friends! We meet up every Wednesday for our weekly Halaqas where we have short reminders about different aspects of Islam.
There are plenty of other events that take place during the year as well, such as Discover Islam Week, Charity Week, Isoc day trips etc.
Jordanian Society
IZWITNA aka, ( The Jordanian Society of QUB), is a student-led initiative. It is a warm, welcoming social-cultural, and educational platform for all students of different backgrounds to communicate, network, and feel like home here at QUB.
One of the main goals of this society is to surround the Jordanian/ Arab students with a home-like environment and help them in interacting with the local community.
Malay Club
Our main focus is to help both the Malaysian students and families currently residing in Belfast to achieve maximum comfort living abroad. Since we have rather small community here in Belfast, all of our members share a strong bond with each other, strong enough to consider ourselves as one huge family. We organise quite a number of activities throughout the year to help each other overcome any homesick feelings that would naturally occur for students studying abroad.
Nigerian Society
Through events, workshops etc., the Nigerian Society creates opportunities to meet fellow Nigerians and assist one another to settle well into the University and also facilitate easy integration of Nigerian students arriving at the host community, Belfast, for the first time.
Saudi Society
It is the mission of the Saudi Society at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) to promote knowledge and awareness of Saudi Culture through cultural and social forum within QUB community and within the greater Northern Ireland community. It is to the main aim of this Society to encourage cultural dialogue and understanding of cultural differences for the sake of harmony and cooperation among QUB society and the greater Northern Ireland society.
Spanish and Portuguese Society
As a languages' society, our aim is to share our passion for Spanish and Portuguese and to bring students together by celebrating Hispanic and Lusophone cultures around the world.
We’re an all-inclusive society that encourages members from all backgrounds. Every year we hold a variety of events, from our Intercambios and food-tasting nights to Carnaval and the Modern Languages Formal. We’ll also keep you up to date on any related events taking place on campus, such as film nights at the Queen’s Film Theatre.
French Society
As a society, we want to bring together students from all across campus who share a mutual interest in the French language and way of life!
We are going to be organising loads of events this year which will give you the opportunity to practise your French Speaking skills and learn more about the culture of different Francophone countries!
Hong Kong Society
Queen's University Belfast Hong Kong Society (QUBHKS) aims to encourage Hong Kong students to reach their full potential while studying at Queen's University and provide a smooth and hassle-free transition for students from Hong Kong into university life in Belfast.
We are the leading student society for Hong Kong students in the Island of Ireland. Having strong ties with Hong Kong Student Societies from both most UK and Irish University, our role at the university is to represent, support and unite Hong Kong students at QUB.
International Students' Society
Queen’s International Student Society (QISS) is a society that welcomes all students to join. We organise numerous events throughout the year where international students (local students are welcome to join too!) can come together to make new friends, experience different cultures and have fun!
Malaysian Students' Society NI (MSSNI)
MSSNI is a student-led organisation aimed towards creating a “family-like” community by making Belfast our home away from home. Join us to experience a taste of the rich and diverse Malaysian culture!
Established in 1997, The Malaysian Students’ Society of Northern Ireland (MSSNI) is currently based in Belfast, United Kingdom. We aim to support our members holistically, tailoring our activities and programs towards current conditions while ensuring that our members are able to make the most out of their university experience at Queen's.
Pakistani Society
Singapore Society
SQUB is a student-run society, catering mostly to Singaporeans studying in QUB. We aim to build a sense of identity and promote camaraderie amongst fellow Singaporeans in Belfast. Despite our aim to connect Singaporean students in Belfast, we do not limit our members to only Singaporeans. We encourage anyone interested in our culture to join our society and events.
South Asian Students' Society
Our Society aims to create a student family for members of the South Asian community, which will provide a forum for the celebration of the diverse cultures originating from this region, as well as encouraging inclusion, friendship, and support amongst its members.
We aim to celebrate such cultures through a range of events throughout the year, whilst also sharing the beauty of South Asian culture with students from other cultural backgrounds. Our society takes a supportive and comprehensive approach in its running, ensuring that the fair inclusion of all students is a priority.
