Hear from our Canadian students on life at Queen's, why they chose to study in Belfast, and the unique experiences they have had since moving to Northern Ireland.
Life in Belfast and Northern Ireland
North Americans on Student Life in Belfast
"A lot of the places in Belfast are unlike anything else I've seen in my life and they're really wonderful to explore."
North Americans on Life in Northern Ireland
"Three words I would use to describe Northern Ireland would definitely be breathtaking, mystical and adventurous."
What our students say
“When I’m not in class or studying, there are a couple things I like to do with my free time. First I like to go to the PEC to work out. I like to lift weights and I also go there for the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Club. I also like to debate. I’m a part of the Literific Society where every week, if possible I can debate on that session’s topic. And finally, if I’m not doing any medical related societies, I like to go out with friends either to the Treehouse in Elms BT9, or some local shops in city centre, to give me the chance to explore.”
Marc Ghaly, Medicine, Undergraduate Student, Toronto
“I loved the friendly and welcoming atmosphere as I was nervous about finding my way around and getting settled in a new city. I also loved that Belfast was a lot more student-oriented than I thought, with there being so many events and other things going on that are done with students in mind. One thing I love about Queen’s is the sheer amount of societies and opportunities available to students. I am currently involved in the Global Skills Project, the Senior Status Law Society, and Queen’s Lawyers Without Borders.”
