The Graduate School’s Social Innovation Challenge sees multi-disciplinary teams of students generate creative solutions to real life social challenges, co-designed with the communities these solutions aim to support. Working alongside key stakeholders and community groups, the teams are set a challenge, will visit the site and use creative methodologies to co-design solutions that in some part may be implemented into the community. (Depending on funding).

In the past this programme has included ‘Making Belfast a Playful City’ working with the Housing Executive & Belfast City Council and more recently the ‘Vacant to Vibrant’ Challenge was based in the Shankill working with the Shankill Partnership Team & BUILD Community Groups.

This programme is primarily for QUB PG students, on occasion we can open this programme out to UG students if it is beneficial to their degree programme and gaining experience. This will be dependent on numbers registered and availability of spaces.
