QUB Human Rights Centre Seminar: The UK's engagement with international human rights monitoring mechanisms

This paper will provide a summary of the content and findings of my recently published book entitled "International Human Rights Monitoring Mechanisms: A Study of their Impact in the UK" (Edward Elgar Ltd, 2022). It will look at the extent and nature of the UK's interaction with international mechanisms, provide an assessment of the effectiveness of that engagement in terms of enhanced protection of human rights in the UK and suggest ways in which the international monitoring system could operate more effectively. Special attention will be given to the monitoring of women's rights.

Speaker: Professor Emeritus Brice Dickson
