Overview

Do you have demanding data or research computing needs?  Did you know you can access free high-performance computing (HPC) through the Kelvin2 Cluster?  It’s easy to use and could save you significant time and resources.

Join the Postdoc Society and NI-HPC experts to learn what high-performance computing can do for your research.  You’ll hear practical advice, see real examples from current users, and have the chance to ask questions.  A pizza lunch will be provided!

Research computing spans a wide range of activities, from running complex simulations on powerful supercomputers to managing and storing large research datasets.  At QUB, this support is provided by the NI-HPC (Northern Ireland High Performance Computing) team, whose role is to help researchers meet their computing and data requirements.

Researchers typically use a supercomputer when their work cannot run efficiently on a local PC, whether due to limited CPU cores, insufficient RAM or storage, missing software, or simply long computation times.

Whatever your technical background, the NI-HPC team is there to help.  They offer training and one-to-one support to guide you through using Kelvin2 effectively.

If you’d like to learn more about NI-HPC services, have questions about using the Kelvin2 cluster, or want advice on research data storage, drop by and speak with one of the team.

This event is open and free to all postdocs and research staff at Queen's however, registration is required.
