Lab45 is designed to guide early-stage research teams through the commercialisation journey. With five focused Missions, it takes teams from understanding commercialisation strategy and developing customer discovery tools, to validating market potential, refining go-to-market strategies with expert advice, and preparing for acceleration and investment. Lab45 empowers teams to transform breakthrough ideas into real-world impact by providing practical tools, insights, and personalised coaching - ensuring innovations have the best chance to succeed beyond the lab. The WE Innovate Programme supports women-led and non-binary-led teams with entrepreneurial ideas, offering tools and guidance to develop their ventures. Open to QUB students, researchers, alumni, and a limited number of external applicants, the programme is currently closed for applications. ICURe (Innovation-to-Commercialisation of University Research) is a 3-month, full-time online program funded by Innovate UK. Using lean start-up methods, it helps university early-career researchers (ECRs) explore market viability for products or services derived from their research. Teams receive training, support, and up to £35,000 in funding to validate their ideas outside the lab. To find out more about this programme click HERE
Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) is a cross-UK Research and Innovation scheme enabling fellows to tackle ambitious and challenging research and develop their own careers. It offers long-term, flexible support, including the fellow's salary and research, staff and training costs, plus the opportunity of a permanent academic position on successful completion of the fellowship.
