Queen’s is the ninth oldest university in the UK and is pivotal to Northern Ireland’s social and economic development, and in shaping the world we live in. The university is ranked 3rd in the UK for University Campus and Facilities (StudentCrowd University Awards 2025), reflecting sustained investment in high‑quality infrastructure, research environments, and collaborative spaces.
Queen's University is a proud partner of the Belfast Region City Deal (BRCD) and is leading the delivery of three innovation centres. We’re working with our partners to deliver a transformational £230m programme of innovation, with a funding commitment of £170m from the UK Government and Northern Ireland Executive. We are harnessing huge opportunities through collaboration with industry, government, and communities.
The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre (AMIC) is a £100m collaborative, innovative powerhouse of advanced manufacturing set to elevate our region globally. It is supporting economic growth and prosperity for Northern IreIand by creating high-quality jobs and increasing inward investment through high-value manufacturing innovation clusters. As an open-access centre for industry, collaborating with AMIC allows businesses to benefit from skills programmes, funded projects, membership and more.
iREACH Health is a £64m integrated clinical research centre which is patient-centred, pro-innovation and digitally enabled. It brings together the expertise of clinicians, life scientists, and data scientists with experienced industry partners to drive improved economic, health, and social care outcomes. iREACH Health will host industry tenants and will serve as an incubator to support early-stage biotech and med-tech companies and spin-outs.
Momentum One Zero is a 70m project that builds on the University's proven research and capability in cybersecurity, wireless innovation, and AI to tackle some of the world’s toughest challenges. Significantly expanding facilities at the Institute of Electronics, Communications and Information Technology (ECIT), Momentum One Zero aims to transform Northern Ireland's digital economy and enhance the region's digital innovation. Businesses can engage with the centre through co-location, innovation programmes, collaborative research, and more.
