Dr Alessandra Guida

Dr Alessandra Guida is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Queen’s School of Law and serves as the UK Government’s independent expert on the Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC). She is also a Member Representative of the UK Trade and Sustainable Development Domestic Advisory Group (UK TSD DAG).
Dr Guida has internationally recognised expertise in International Trade Law, International Environmental Law, Food Law, and Sustainable Governance, across both civil law and common law systems.
As a Commissioner on the Trade and Agriculture Commission (TAC), she works with a dedicated team of experts to assess trade agreements, evaluate their impact on the agricultural sector, and provide recommendations that support economic growth and responsible stewardship of natural resources. In this role, she contributes to strengthening the UK’s position in international markets while advocating for the interests of the global agricultural community.
Dr Guida is the author of Biosafety Measures, Technology Risks and the World Trade Organization: Thriving and Surviving in the Age of Biotech (Routledge, 2023) and has published numerous articles, book chapters, and reports.
Dr Guida also co-leads the ReImagining Supply Chain Network Plus (RiSC+), a £6.35 million project funded by UK Research and Innovation, aimed at reshaping and future-proofing the UK’s supply chains in sectors such as food, minerals, and fashion.
