
I have recently been lucky enough to spend the last three and a half weeks spent participating in University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Summer at the Beach programme, and it was truly unforgettable.

From June 21st to July 15th, I had the incredible opportunity to live and study in the United States at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, a beautiful campus located in the picturesque beach town of Wilmington NC.

Through QUB and the JetSet award, I had the opportunity to spend two weeks in Mexico teaching English in a program called YES en Inglés. It was one of the most rewarding and enriching experiences of my academic and professional journey so far.



Since 2017, the UK arts council funding has been cut by 16% in real terms according to Equity. In England, it’s dropped by 11%; in Wales, by 30%; in Northern Ireland, by 16%.

Participating in the ICC Mediation Competition in Paris was an invaluable experience that enhanced my skills, added depth to my Law with Politics degree, and reinforced my ambition to pursue a career in international dispute resolution.

Growing up with a single mother, I never thought I would be able to access 40 hours of intensive Arabic in Germany. So, I think it’s important to provide some background as to why this scholarship meant so much to me.

My recent trip with Queen’s University to Wilmington, North Carolina, was definitely one of the best, if not the best, experiences of my life.

Participating in the Belmont University Summer Programme in Nashville, Tennessee, was a transformative experience that fostered significant personal, academic, and professional growth.

In short, living abroad, for me, has helped to gain cultural intelligence, develop personally, create a global network of friends and become more confident and independent. My time abroad has, in many ways, changed my life.
