Andrew Trimble
"It’s a real privilege to be included in the Queen’s Leaders 18-45 initiative alongside so many inspiring people."
Andrew Trimble is a former international rugby player turned tech innovator, now serving as Senior Director of Athlete Performance at Teamworks – a global leader in performance technology used by over 6,000 organisations across sport, military, and public safety. A Queen’s Finance graduate, Trimble earned 229 caps over 13 seasons with Ulster Rugby and 70 caps for Ireland, securing two Triple Crowns and a Six Nations Championship during an illustrious international career.
After retiring from professional sport, Andrew co-founded Kairos, a scheduling and communication platform for elite sports teams, now used across the Premier League, NBA, and MLB. Following its acquisition by Teamworks in 2023, he continues to lead strategic innovation at the intersection of sport and technology.
"My time at Queen’s was formative, not just in shaping my academic journey but by helping to broaden my perspective beyond the rugby pitch."
Throughout his journey from the rugby pitch to the tech industry, Andrew continues to draw on the foundations built during his time at Queen’s. The support, community, and experiences he gained as a student helped shape his approach to leadership, resilience, and innovation – qualities that remain central to his work today.
"The support I received while balancing the demands of study and sport opened doors for me and provided a foundation that continues to influence my career in business."
