Lanyon magazine at the tap of a screen

We’ve just published our brand new, digital Lanyon magazine which helps our alumni keep in touch with all things Queen’s.

In this edition, we talk to Senator George Mitchell about his journey from an impoverished background in an industrialised area of Maine to leading the US Senate and helping bring about peace in Northern Ireland all via the benefits of higher education.

We hear all about the adventures of one of Queen’s oldest societies, the Dragonslayers and how being in a society can be like a home for home for some of our international students.

The magazine also focuses on the power of philanthropy; how donors make that call and how students’ lives can be turned around by scholarships. And we take a look at the fabulous InterSim Centre at Queen’s which provides a unique medical training environment which simulates a real work place. And there’s a gratuitous photo of our recent Honorary Graduate Jamie Dornan because, why not?

Welcoming the new magazine, Director of Alumni Engagement and Philanthropy Eddie Friel said:

“We’re very proud of how we are able to connect to our Queen’s community and keep them up to date on all the great things that go on at our University.

“It’s important that we can do this digitally as, not only does it support our important sustainability policies, but it gives our graduates a quality, accessible and interactive read at the tap of a screen.”

We love the look of our new Lanyon. We hope you do too.
